LUCKY RAVEN
We started Lucky Raven Media in the mid-2010s to explore the idea of creating a video game based on the Dead Winter webcomic. Neither of us had experience with game development at the time, but we had a lot of relevant skills, with Allie making art and Juno writing code. So, we got to work and figured it out, piece by piece. It took some time, and a few trips back to square one, but we eventually found a rhythm.
After looking at all our other scattered projects over the years, we realized that we had a lot more going on than just the Dead Winter game, and we wanted to consolidate it all under one banner so others can see all of the things we're creating these days. Whether it's new comics for a zombie apocalypse, character profiles on a space station, or new chapters for fantasy tales, they're all things that exist through Allie and Juno's creative partnership.
Our goal with Lucky Raven projects, particularly our games, is to make something fun and accessible to all players without compromising a high skill ceiling for gameplay with complexity and depth. With hand-drawn art and responsive gameplay, we try to capture the feel of arcade classics within a modern, high-definition package. Lucky Raven stories are hopeful and inclusive, and we'll do our best for our worlds to feel welcoming--just steer clear of any shambling undead, and everything will work out fine. Probably.
2024 is starting to look like the year when we can finally get a lot of the projects we'd been working on behind the scenes in front of everyone, so be sure to keep an eye on this site to see what's on the horizon!
