Welcome to Titan
As Saturn is the only planet with no dominant lifeform claiming it or its moons, Titan Garden serves as a neutral interplanetary hub for the many inhabitants of the Sol system to gather for leisure and work alike. Favorable warp currents and an orbit only 9 AU from Sol make Titan a prime pit-stop for cargo haulers navigating through the system and companies looking to expand their business beyond their planet's borders. The fully-enclosed station also boasts one of the largest shopping and dining centers and in all of Sol, making it a prime spot for tourists to experience a little bit of what the system has to offer.
That's the side of Titan Garden that's advertised, at least. But space is a tough nut to crack. Ships break down, travelers are attacked by giant space fish, skirmishes between lawless pirates and the allied Terran-Neptunian militaries threaten trade routes. For a crew willing to get its hands dirty--and occasionally skirt the flimsy interplanetary laws governing Saturnian space--there's plenty of lucrative opportunities just one liftoff away from Titan. So plenty of smaller businesses operate out of Titan Garden, where the rents are cheap and most are willing to look the other way for the right price when a job gets messy.
Perhaps that's what drew you to Titan? Maybe you want to make some honest credits hauling cargo between Caelus and Ganymede. Maybe you owe a debt to a Venusian crime family and you want to try and strike it big at the casinos in the E-district--and then look for work at the dockyard pubs when the gambling goes sideways. Maybe you're hunting ghosts from old shipwrecks and needed a base of operations.
Whatever the case is, you're gonna need a crew.
Gameplay
Titan Garden is a setting for a tabletop RPG in which players can assume the role of someone finding themselves in Titan's great interplanetary crossroad--either searching for glory, or just trying to get by. Whether it's a campaign fully contained within Titan Garden or it stretches out into space with a ship and a crew, the Titan Garden TTRPG book will contain information on the kinds of people and creatures characters can encounter along the way.
Instead of devising a new TTRPG system, we're designing Titan Garden to be compatible with other existing systems, providing information on the environment and the people in order for a game master to create a compelling campaign using whichever gameplay system they're already comfortable or familiar with. Need help choosing one? We recommend using the Strike! system, which is designed for fast, fluid gameplay.
Status
As of the end of 2023, we're busy working on putting together the layout and contents of the book. We're still early in its development, but we're targeting a 2024 release for purchase as an e-book.
Until then, the best way to learn about Titan Garden and the inhabitants of the Sol system is to read all the character profiles on the Titan Garden site! There's already a lot of information there on the Titan Garden universe and is an excellent starting point for the eventual launch of the RPG book.
Titan Garden is a sci-fi concept that Allie and Juno had originally developed around 2010, with Allie reviving the idea over a decade later. We're excited to share the TTRPG material soon, so everyone can create their own stories in Titan Garden!
